Joris Nieuwenhuis wins in Merksplas despite bad luck
A crash, shoe problems, and mechanical bad luck couldn’t stop him. Joris Nieuwenhuis has won the Aardbeiencross in Merksplas for the second time in his career. The Dutchman accelerated with two laps to go and finished solo ahead of Niels Vandeputte and Emiel Verstrynge.

Brand is the best in Merksplas as well, after her win in Niel
A few days after her first victory in the Telenet Superprestige of the season in Niel, Lucinda Brand has now also won the round in Merksplas. She rode half the race alone in the lead and finished ahead of Aniek van Alphen and Inge van der Heijden.

Sweeck wins after photo finish in Niel
Laurens Sweeck (Crelan – Corendon) was the fastest after a thrilling race in Niel. With a tire-width advantage, he beat Niels Vandeputte (Alpecin – Deceuninck). Michael Vanthourenhout (Pauwels Sauzen - Altez Industriebouw Cycling Team), leader of the Telenet Superprestige, finished third.
